Calculator Use

The graphing scientificand 4-function calculators are acceptable or provided for some practice (r) tests. Unless it is specified that a calculator will be allowed to be used for a particular test however, calculators cannot be utilized.

Test takers aren't permitted to share calculators.

Tests That Do Not Permit Use of a Calculator

In generally, unless specifically stated that a particular type of calculator is allowed or required for a particular test, calculators cannot be used for every exam. test.

Tests That Permit the Use of a Calculator

You may use a four-function or scientific calculator for your Middle School: Content Knowledge (5146) test, but you're not required to do so. You are required to bring your own calculator to the test center. There is no calculator available in the test center. The use of a graphing calculator is not permitted during this test.

Types of CalculatorsThat Are Not Permitted

The following are not permitted on Praxis tests:

  • Laptops, laptops, and handheld computers
  • Electronic pads for writing
  • Models with pen-input/stylus/touch-screen capability
  • Calculators on phones or watches as well as other electronic devices
  • Models featuring QWERTY or any other alphabetic keypads in software or hardware
  • Models with printers
  • Models that produce noise or "talk"
  • Modells which require an outlet
  • Models that have access to the internet, or have either wireless, or Bluetooth (r) capability.

Additionally, the use of any hardware peripherals is not allowed.
